Google fined € 1.1 Millions for misleading public through online searching The move is based on the Finance Ministry's finding that hotels in France were ranked in Google's search list by misleading people.

Google was fined following a month-long investigation that began in 2019. Google Ireland and Google France have been fined $ 1.1million. The Directorate General of Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) said in an official investigation that Google had established a list based on its own criteria instead of the Atout France rankings.The finance ministry has assessed more than 7,500 hotels on Google's ranking list following complaints from several hotel officials.
